About Me

About Me

Born in Mexico to a Cuban family, I have always been driven by a deep curiosity about the world.  At 16, I earned a scholarship to attend the United World College in India, where I had the opportunity to live and learn alongside students from diverse backgrounds.

This early experience sparked a journey that has taken me across the globe, including stints in Amsterdam, Montreal, Havana, and New York City, where I earned a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. My background as a journalist and podcast producer includes covering critical issues such as immigration, gender, human rights, and social justice.

Currently, I serve as the Managing Podcast Producer at Hueman Group Media. In this role, I have been instrumental in producing over 100 podcast episodes and about a dozen shows focused on social change, including the Webby-awarded podcast "Finding Humanity."

But as she was writing for their superhero, she found herself swept up in #comicsgate, an online harassment campaign against the comic book industry's efforts to include more women, people of color, and LGBTQ characters into their comics.
